Social Skills GrouP

Children need first-hand experience with turn-taking, teamwork, self-regulation and perspective-taking to help them become socially competent. Connected Communities will utilize evidence-based social skills activities to help children and teens within our service area by providing them with the opportunity to participate in structured activities aimed at building these critical social skills. These Social Skill Groups will include games that involve taking turns, dramatic and pretend play, activities that assist with recognition of facial expressions, promoting cooperation and teamwork, good sportsmanship and many other types of social skills that are vital in building healthy relationships and strengthening community. Participants are divided by age range and groups are open to children and teens who are at-risk, have special needs and/or would benefit from engagement in these social skills groups.
