Youth Mentoring & Support

Assessments

IACCT assessments

IACCT assessments are provided through collaboration between the child and family, physicians, and Magellan to create a system that more wholly addresses the needs of the child. We provide prompt assessment services through building connections with community providers and having a dedicated assessor for the IACCT program. Whether in a residential program or in the community, we offer continuous connections that support access to resources for resiliency and coordinated care.

Skill Development

Casey Life Skills

Life Skills Development

Casey Life Skills (CLS) is an evidence-based program where the youth and their mentor will identify small steps for the youth to take to get closer to their goals. Youth will take the Casey Life Skills assessment to identify where the youth excels and where they can improve - areas include maintaining healthy relationships, work and study habits, planning and goal setting, using community resources, daily living activities, budgeting and paying bills, computer literacy, permanent connections to caring adults. Youth will then work with their Mentors to create measurable goals to address their identified areas of need. The goal of the program is to create long-term success in the identified areas for the youth.

Home for Now

Academic Development

Our Home for Now program is geared towards elementary, middle and high school students who provide additional educational and behavioral support in the school setting. Therapeutic interventions can occur up to 7 hours per day either during or after school. This service is provided at a minimum of three days and a maximum of 5 days per week. Home for Now also provides consultation to teachers regarding implementation of intervention plans, individualized services, and groups as possible. Individuals in this program will work on skills like organization and time management that will help to increase academic success. This program is similar to previous Medicaid-funded school-based programs.

Therapeutic Mentoring

Social Skills Development

Therapeutic Mentoring allows youth and adolescents to have a role model to assist them with improving overall behaviors and functioning. The process begins with building rapport which includes observing and evaluating what basic needs are and are not being met for the individual. This phase also includes consistency, a safe environment, learning about likes and dislikes, showing up authentically, and meeting the client where they are in a non-judgmental setting. The individual and Mentor will then work together on individualized goals.

The Mentors will use evidence-based therapeutic interventions to address individualized client goals. We will tailor our services to the needs of the individual client and/or community. It is our goal to help our clients reach their greatest potential so that they may also give back to their community.

Behavior Intervention

Home-Based Counseling

Home-Based Counseling services provide comprehensive services to children at risk, adolescents and families in order to stabilize the family and maintain the home environment, establish and work towards treatment goals and facilitate the use of community resources by the family. Home-Based Counseling provides crisis intervention and treatment; individual and family counseling; communication skills; case management activities and coordination with other services. Home-Based Counseling targets children and adolescents who are at risk of out of home placement due to behavioral, mental or substance.

Residential Deviation Program™

Our Residential Deviation Program was designed to reach at-risk youth who need intensive behavioral support to avoid accruing criminal charges or to avoid potential out-of-home placement including residential treatment or detention center. This program allows therapeutic supervision to occur up to 70 hours per week in the home, school, and/or community. The program focuses on improving the communication and relationship between parents/guardians and the youth to support the youth to remain at home. The program focuses on supporting parents/guardians to learn and establish appropriate structure in the home to support the youth to responsibly behave in the home, school, and community.

The program will support individuals to learn how to set goals and work towards changing behaviors by changing how the individual thinks as well as teaching positive social skills to develop meaningful relationships with others. The program will allow individuals to develop goals that are congruent with making positive life choices. Through the Residential Deviation Program clients will process and reflect on choices that have led them to need this type of intensive support. Exercise and fitness will be an integral part of helping clients to channel their negative thoughts and feelings into productive things that can replace negative thinking and behaviors. Clients will be able to identify who they are and want to become, while learning skills to increase self confidence and responsible behavioral choices.
